Welcome to WISE official website. Organization for Women in Self Employment (WISE) is an Ethiopian Resident Charity registered with the Ministry of Justice since August 1997 and has been operating since January 1998.WISE is a non-governmental organization (NGO) located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are dedicated to elimination of urban poverty and the realization of sustainable livelihoods among poor urban women. In WISE, the major focus areas are economic, social and political empowerment of women and the attainment of gender equality.

The Organization for Women in Self Employment(WISE) was established in September, 1997 and commenced full programme operation in January, 1998. WISE has been working with poor self-employed women in their efforts to achieve self-reliance, exercise their rights and improve the quality of their lives.

Extension of WISE Women’s Training Center

The extension of WISE Women’s Training Center is progressing. The structure will be used for,among others as a women’s crafts display center. Members of the SACCOs,staff of WISE,board members, funding partners and individual supporters have put in their services. WISE was able to obtain free of charge for design and supervision of the building
